To be loved in spite of ourselves.
Lootie Pfanner (Jamie Luner) is an all-American point guard on the women's basketball team. After college, Lootie takes the head coaching job at St. Tammany, a small private prep school.
St. Tammany's dean, Father Thomas Mullberry (Jeffrey Meek), has stepped down as the girls' basketball coach, hiring Lootie in his place. He hopes she can rebuild the team which is high of spirit but low on talent.
Armed with an unorthodox style, and with the help of a stong-willed assistant (Soleil Moon Frye) Lootie hammers the team with fundamental basics and stresses the philosophy of playing with passion or not at all.
Despite opposition from the Dean and her old boyfriend, Carl Hastings (Mark Paul Gosselaar), Lootie brings a handful of individuals from a dark and dusty gym into the glaring light of a state championship.. |
