Frequently Asked Questions
- Is paying online safe?
Independent studies have shown that using credit cards online through a secure server is in fact safer than ordering by phone or fax. It is also easier and more convenient for many customers who enjoy shopping online. We are using PayPal, an industry leader in fraud prevention and risk management, with one of the lowest loss rates in the online retail industry. Credit card information is encrypted through the most secure encryption software available. Having said that, we understand that some customers will not be comfortable making payments online. We will therefore continue to accept payments both by phone and fax using the downloadable order form.
- How do I order?
Find the videos you wish to purchase using our categories or search engine. When you have found a title you wish to buy, click on the “add to cart button.” At this point you can proceed to the checkout page or continue to browse the site for more titles. Once you have added all the titles you wish to purchase go to the checkout cart. At that point you can go to a secure checkout point and use your credit card to pay for your items. You will be asked for billing and shipping information to complete the transaction. We use PayPal, which allows you to set up a password-protected account. This means returning customers can use their PayPal account, saving checkout time by not having to restate all their shipping and billing information in order to make future purchases.
- What Payments do you accept?
Customers paying online can use most credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover through PayPal. Customers who would rather not pay online can still use the downloadable form (fill it out and mail or fax it back). Customers can also call to order titles or ask questions. However, we do not accept American Express for customers who are mailing or faxing or calling in orders. If you are an institution and are therefore unable to prepay with credit cards, you can download the printable order form and fax or mail it with a check, or request billing using a purchase order number (there is a min order $25 for purchase orders).
- Will I be charged sales tax?
Orders shipped to California (CA) will be charged sales tax at the current California rate unless the purchaser can provide a resale license or tax exemption certificate. Sales tax will be calculated on total merchandise purchased.
- What is your return policy?
All sales are final unless the product arrives damaged or defective, in which case we will replace it subject to our return policy.
- What do you do with our information?
At CF Media we hold your privacy in the highest regard. We use mailing addresses, phone numbers and email addresses only to better serve our customers’ needs, to ensure correct and efficient shipping and billing, and to inform customers of the status of their orders. We do not sell or rent out our customers email addresses, phone numbers or mailing addresses to anyone outside our organization.
- What is PAL?
PAL stands for Phrase Alternate Line and is a video format used in much of Europe. In the United States and Canada, we use the NTSC (National Television Standards Committee) format and the videos we sell are in that format. If you are ordering from outside the United States or Canada, you will need to determine which format will work in your country. We do have a few titles available in PAL; e-mail us at info@cfmedia.com to check for availability.
- Will American DVDs play internationally?
DVD movies are coded by region, with Region 0 playing everywhere in the world and Region 1 playing in Canada, the United States and its territories. We sell mostly Region 1 DVDs. If you are ordering internationally and require different regions, we may be able to order them for you; just e-mail us at info@cfmedia.com to check for availability.
- Can I show a video to church groups?
Some customers have wondered if it is permissible to show videos to church and school groups, or if it is a copyright violation. The answer is that to legally show videocassettes or DVDs of motion pictures for a variety of church activities (whether it was purchased, rented or borrowed) you need a performance license. The Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), is a group that offers umbrella licenses to show productions in public groups. They have teamed up with Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) to create Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI). For one small annual licensing fee, you can obtain a license to show most Christian and secular titles for church services and programs, educational sessions and youth activities. This license doesn’t cover materials that have been copied from another source or recorded from television, nor does it cover circumstances in which an admission fee is charged.
